Peppermints, tea and juices are all effective to stop indigestion

Well, lifestyle changes still going well and we have tried out some of the natural remedies but so far nothing seems to do the trick for curing my husband’s indigestion problems but I continue my search. I still believe that we will find something natural that will work so that he can stop taking medication and his symptoms will be cured completely. So I have been busy researching some more things to try out.

Peppermints are thought to be a brilliant natural cure for indigestion. Using its menthol content peppermint works by relaxing the valve between the gullet and stomach helping to release trapped gas that can cause indigestion.

Chamomile tea is made from aromatic plants. The effect of it is to help to get rid of gas, the same as peppermints. Feeling relaxed is a natural side effect of chamomile so be careful when you take it!

Basil tea is a herb with leaves that are aromatic and should be drunk before eating so that it can prevent indigestion. To make it pour hot water on two or three basil leaves in a cup and then cover the cup. Leave for about ten minutes, take out the basil leaves and then add sweetener if desired.

Acidophilus is thought to be another good remedy for indigestion. Being a good type of bacteria it helps in fighting some of the elements that cause indigestion. It’s available in a liquid, powder or in tablet form.

After each meal drink some pineapple juice. This will prevent burping and the build up of gas. It is important not to stop drinking pineapple juice even after the initial symptoms of indigestion are gone.

Ginger and lemon juice combined can also cure indigestion. Simply add ginger and lemon juice to honey for an effective indigestion remedy.

A glass of water natural indigestion remedies

More research has led me to a couple more easy natural indigestion remedies that we can try out. I am finding it really interesting there are some really easy things you can do to help relieve indigestion symptoms yet many people will continue for years suffering, not realising that they can do something about it! Indigestion has actually been around for hundreds of years and so have some of the most natural cures. However, the study of these natural treatments has only been around for the last few decades.

So here are some more simple and effective indigestion remedies that could work as a natural cure:

Regularly eating honey is thought to help cure indigestion. This is because honey is a natural treatment that heals body tissue. Honey helps heal the sphincter which in some cases is a cause of indigestion. The sphincter is a ring of muscle tissue that is situated between your stomach and oesophagus and it works by opening and closing to allow food to enter the stomach. If it is weak it loses its ability to stay shut thus allowing stomach acid to flow back up the oesophagus causing indigestion symptoms. The sphincter can be strengthened by eating 3 teaspoons of honey every day. We will definitely be trying out this very simple and natural indigestion cure and we will be having honey on our toast in the mornings!

Eating an apple is also thought to be beneficial in curing indigestion. Although this does not work for everyone it has been helping my Grandad's indigestion for many years now. Whenever he feels an indigestion symptoms coming on, he eats a red apple and it helps him enormously.

Drinking water after every meal can help. This is because water helps to flush the stomach cavity and create a seal for the sphincter. You should be drinking at least 7-8 glasses of water every day.

Another natural remedy is tea. Acid reflux is mainly a disease that affects the western world and it is widely believed that easterners do not suffer with it because they drink tea. One popular remedy for indigestion is green tea with ginseng, something easy for us to try!

Finally, as already mentioned, you should also try to change some bad habits that may contribute to your indigestion. These include avoid smoking, drinking carbonated drinks and alcohol to but we are working on these!

Ginger can help as an indigestion remedy

Well, we have started to implement our lifestyle changes but it has not been at all easy but we are going along doing the best we can! The good news is that we both feel much healthier and have loads more energy. My husband’s indigestion is better than it was but his symptoms are not completely gone and he still relies on medication for relief.

So, we are now happy that we are tackling the obvious natural indigestion treatment and that is to make important lifestyle changes. We have changed our diet and we are tackling our bad habits – we are stopping smoking and we are avoiding excessive alcohol intake. We are also exercising more.  Of course, these changes are much easier said than done so we are both doing the best we can by gradually decreasing our smoking and drinking habits and increasing our exercise times.

I have since done a little more research and I have discovered that an effective acid indigestion treatment is ginger. You can take ginger supplement as a pill or syrup and these can be brought in any health food shop. You can also make your own ginger tea by boiling some ginger in water! The substances contained in ginger will neutralize stomach acid thereby eliminating the symptoms of acid indigestion.
Aloe vera is well known for its wonderful healing properties. Most people are aware that it is great for the skin but apparently it is also used for healing many digestive disorders too.

I pointed out to my wife that a massive benefit of these natural indigestion treatments is that they tackle the root of the problem whereas over the counter medication simply eases symptoms and does not address the real cause of indigestion.

Healthy eating is the key to indigestion relief

I have been busy searching for an effective indigestion remedy for my husband who is relying heavily on indigestion medications at the moment. Sorting out his indigestion problem is crucial for him and for my sanity!

He is bloated a lot and he describes it as having a full stomach, he also gets a burning sensation in the middle of his belly, he gets nauseous and he burps a lot after eating and he is unable to control this. He also gets heartburn which he describes as a burning sensation in his chest.

So after doing some research I have discovered that we can make some basic lifestyle changes which will hopefully help both of us and particularly his indigestion symptoms. We are going to put them into practice together so I can encourage him as there are some big changes on the list!

  • We are going to eat more slowly at mealtimes. We are also going to eat more frequent and smaller meals instead of a large meal in the evening.
  • We are going to avoid acidic foods
  • We are going to drink a lot more water and eat more fire rich foods
  • We are going cut down on our alcohol consumption
  • We are going to stop smoking
  • We are going to get more rest - 7-8 hours sleep every night.
  • We are going exercise regularly

I am hoping that these lifestyle changes will not only help us to feel healthier and have more energy but will help to keep my husband’s indigestion symptoms at bay.

I should point out here that in most situations indigestion is a mild condition and will go away without treatment and that changes in lifestyle can be an effective treatment. However, if you find that you have lost your appetite because of a bloated stomach, are breathless, sweat more than usual, vomit or have black or bloody stools, then it is important to visit your GP to get checked out.

Wish us luck on these lifestyle changes, I will report back soon whether they are helping.

A natural indigestion cure

My wife is suffering from bad indigestion and her symptoms seem to be getting more regular. He often complains about feeling very full after eating even if when he’s only had a small meal. He says that the full feeling is often in her upper abdomen and he also gets a lot of gas causing him to belch a lot. He also sometimes gets nausea and heartburn symptoms too. All these symptoms cause him discomfort and of course if we are out in public, embarrassment. On a more positive note, her feelings of indigestion do not last long and are usually relieved by antacids.

I am concerned that her symptoms are becoming more regular and that he may not be looking after himself properly so I decided to investigate what might be causing her indigestion. I have discovered that in most cases, there isn’t a known medical reason for indigestion and that it is usually caused by acid reflux. Acid reflux occurs when excess acid from the stomach escapes and is forced back up into the oesophagus causing indigestion symptoms.

So, although there so often no underlying cause for indigestion, I decided to research what can cause it and interestingly I found that there are many things that can cause it. These include eating lots of fatty and spicy foods, smoking, excessive alcohol intake, stress and lack of physical exercise. Acid indigestion can also be triggered by eating citrus foods, chocolates, caffeine in drinks, carbonated drinks and drinking milk on an empty stomach. Eating too fast and eating too fast can also cause indigestion.

However, it is important to mention there are still people who suffer from indigestion that is unrelated to the any of these things mentioned. Ther type of indigestion is called non-ulcer indigestion or functional indigestion. It is a result of the stomach muscles not working properly during eating. When ther is the problem a doctor can prescribe medication to help stomach motility.

Based on ther research, I am now thinking that there are many things my wife can do to possibly minimise her indigestion symptoms and I will be raising these issues with him. Wish me luck!

Indigestion Remedies

Suffering from indigestion, reflux or heartburn can really affect your daily life. I suffered for many years and it seems whenever I consumed anything even slightly fatty, any alcohol or any kind of fried carbs, my indigestion kicked in with a vengeance causing pain and misery until I could either find some antacid for quick temporary relief or until a long lasting tablet kicked in an hour or so later.

My indigestion was starting to have a negative impact on my life, it was causing me to be miserable and depressed. I couldn't go out to restaurants and enjoy a meal with friends and family without getting a bout of indigestion. I couldn't eat oranges, drink alcohol or eat or drink any of the things I enjoyed without the risk of pain and discomfort. As for drinking alcohol, there was no way I could drink any alcohol without knowing about it a few hours later.

Was it my lifestyle? The food I ate, the alcohol I drank, long stressful hours at work or all of these things? It seemed every man and his wife had an opinion on why people get indigestion and what the best way to cure it is, ‘drink some milk’ people used to say, ‘eat some fruit’ others used to say, but the fact of the matter was nothing seemed to work. That was, until I found this book which has been an absolute life saver for me.

A structured natural approach

I've done a fair amount of research on natural indigestion remedies in the past and I've had success with combating indigestion symptoms using natural remedies such as peppermints, chamomile, basil tea and ginger. Ginger is actually fantastic. You can take a ginger supplement as a pill or syrup which can be brought in any health food shop and you can also make ginger tea by boiling ginger in water.

I particular mention ginger because the substances contained in ginger will neutralize stomach acid very effectively and will ease the symptoms of indigestion, heartburn and reflux. But there is a problem with all these natural remedies - there is no real guidance regarding how, why and when to take the ingredients and what works best, it's all trial and error.

The site I found includes a report which explains in detail how you can tackle indigestion, heartburn and acid reflux using natural and holistic techniques.

I downloaded the report and I’ve been so impressed by the results I just had to post about it here. I’ve held off and held off until I was certain and I can honestly say, because of what this report teaches I no longer rely on antacid or medication to combat indigestion.

So what's it all about then?

The report is called 'Heartburn No More' and it is a 150 page book which details an exact technique, split into 5 phases which if followed to completion (it's not hard!) has the potential to completely cure indigestion.

The methods are simple but they do offer many benefits. Jeff Martin the author of the report apparently used to suffer really bad from Heartburn and acid reflux (yeah right I thought), but actually, when you start to read through, it's evident that the report is written with the empathy of someone who has suffered similarly in the past.

The report is written clearly and jargon free so even I could understand it which is saying something, but it's evident throughout that Jeff Martin is writing from the heart and wants to help the reader to combat their symptoms.

The technique uses only natural ingredients readily available, no over the counter medication, no far eastern herbal plant that costs a fortune to import and no dangerous or 'research' type chemical.

The methods are completely holistic, safe and I've had no problem getting hold of everything that's required.

What's included?

The Heartburn No More report contains 150 pages of information which can help you to:

  • Cure Your Indigestion, Acid Reflux and Heartburn Permanently
  • Cure Your Indigestion, Acid Reflux and Heartburn Holistically
  • Cure Your Indigestion, Acid Reflux and Heartburn Without Drugs, Antacids or Typical Acid Reflux Treatments
  • Cure Your Indigestion, Acid Reflux and Heartburn With A Safe, Effective and Clear Plan and Put an End To The Confusion Once and For Al

Is there anything I didn't like?

To be honest, it sounds pretty stupid but I didn't like the size of the report. It's 150 pages long and I'm not the best at following along and staying focused. When I first saw how many pages it was I thought there was absolutely no way I was going to complete it. But the report is written in such a way that it's easy to follow and keeps you motivated. Believe me, if I can do it anyone can do it.

Also, this isn't really something I don't like, but it's worth mentioning that the method described in the Heartburn No More report does take about a week to get through and start working effectively. It's not a 24 hour silver bullet magic cure. But that's neither here or there really, it does work and works very well.

Final thoughts

Apparently Jeff Martin was working on this system for 11 years to get it into the structured course it is today. Whether or not that's true there's no doubt the course works and it works very well.

There are quite a few comments from other customers and I found it quite interesting to read what they had to say and compare results.

The cost of the report is $47 and it comes with a 60 day money back guarantee, but I won't be giving Heartburn No More back. It works for me and I'm very, very happy!
